peter pan: asian carp?
Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004 @ 9:35 p.m.

i saw three trees today that had green leaves on the bottom and red on the top. this is not the environmental story of the day.

standing against asian carp, viktor, and newmarket's shocking air quality revelation, pretty colours didn't make news.

carp are scary things. i'm sure this is true both to people who are and are not like myself -- mildly terrified of things that live underwater and are larger than i am. even though they're not here and america is spending millions to build an electric fence to keep them out (?), i'll be far less comfortable swimming in lakes knowing that the silver breed gets excited about noise and flies out of the water in the direction of the disturbance. that's right. they can fly.

i have three thoughts on the matter: 1 - the flying, 2 - these carp can survive up to seven days out of the water, 3 - an electric fence is being built across the mississippi river.

they can fly!!! unholy and unnatural.

would it kill viktor to throw cans in the blue bin?
