another important figure announced his resignation today at work. soon, i will too.

we were talking about it in the caf, when one of my co-workers likened our hotel to the titanic. and everyone jumped in with references to the big ship and laughed and thought themselves terribly clever, until i yelled above the din that what made the sinking of the titanic tragic was that people had actually expected something from it, and that since nobody has ever expected even one damned thing from the sheraton hamilton, it would be more suitably likened to a capsizing dinghy.

and so it was that lunch hour...
