short cooking update

there were fresh organic cranberries at the grocery store, so in addition to the turkey et al., i took on fresh cranberry sauce...also for the first time.

"in saucepan, combine ingredients. bring to a boil. continue stirring until cranberries begin to pop."

i'm considering my safety. what happens when a cranberry pops in a vat of oozing sugary juice? is it like popcorn: do i need a lid? how do i stir it with a lid on?

five minutes until i find out the hard way.
